Happy New Year! I hope your year is starting off magically! My orchid opened up on New Year's Day, so I take that as a good sign! May 2017 be filled with abundance, love, beauty and joy for all of us!
And of course, I wish you radiant health for 2017 and beyond. Each new year, I give you my top vegan tip to start the year off well. Whether you want to eat more vegan, all vegan or you're already vegan, there's always more to know and more ways to grow. So this year, I'm recommending my top 4 books to help inspire you on your vegan journey. Each of these books is an expert, easy-to-read guide on how and why to go vegan that I've personally given as gifts to my family and friends. Read one or all, and they just may change your life:
How Not to Die by Michael Greger, MD.
Becoming Vegan by Brenda Davis, RD and Vesanto Melina, MS, RD.
Never Too Late to Go Vegan by Carol J. Adams, Patti Breitman and Virginia Messina, MPH, RD.
And of course, By Any Greens Necessary. :)
So check out these books as you start your healthy new year--and happy reading!
Come see me in person this weekend!
If you're in the Washington, DC area, come join me at the NBC4 Health and Fitness Expo on Sunday, January 8 at 2:30pm at the Washington Convention Center. It's the largest 2-day health festival on the East Coast. I'll be sharing great tips to eat healthy and vegan for the new year, answering your questions and signing books. And I'll be giving away free printed copies of the African American Vegan Starter Guide on a first come, first served basis. Be sure to wear your workout clothes so you can join the free fitness classes. See you there!
Have a great week, fam!
